Learning path

From the first step to real conversation

Every learner works differently. We shape the route around age, level and the way that person learns.

Because for us, learning a language really means being able to use it and to express yourself in it.

At Mea Lingua every lesson is a fresh chance to use the language a little more, to express yourself a little more freely, and to come one step closer to speaking.

How we learn

Discover. Use. Discover again.

Learning is not a staircase, it is a cycle. Every conversation starts a new discovery.

  1. 1 / 5 — Discover

Meets the language and discovers its sounds, words and expressions through natural interaction.

  2. 2 / 5 — Build the base

Builds vocabulary, structures and comprehension on solid foundations.

  3. 3 / 5 — Use it

Puts what has been learned to work in games, tasks and real situations.

  4. 4 / 5 — Speak

Expresses thoughts, asks and answers, and makes the language a natural part of communicating.

  5. 5 / 5 — Discover again

Speaking uncovers new needs: the learner sharpens what they know, picks up new expressions and starts the journey again.

Where it leads

  1. Introduces themselves and manages basic exchanges.A1
  2. Holds simple conversations on everyday topics.A2
  3. Now uses the language independently.B1
  4. Expresses ideas more comfortably.B2
  5. Communicates naturally on complex topics.C1
  6. Uses the language fluently, with all its nuance.C2

Teaching method

What actually happens in a lesson?

The teacher explains, the student listens… and that is the lesson over? We do not think so. At Mea Lingua a lesson is designed as a process in which the student actively uses the language, speaks, asks questions and communicates. We aim for a classroom where even the most reserved student can express themselves.

  • Speaking comes first

Lessons are built so that students talk. Confidence grows from being heard, not from waiting for the perfect sentence.

  • Listening & pronunciation

Hearing English properly and forming the sounds correctly are trained from the very first levels.

  • Reading & writing foundations

Alongside conversation, students build the grammar, vocabulary and writing they need to keep progressing.

  • Phonics for young learners

Pre-school and primary pupils learn the sound system of English before being asked to read it.

  • Interactive & engaging

Children learn a language best when the lesson is interactive, interesting and built around them.

  • Step by step, level by level

Programs follow a CEFR-oriented order: from the simple to the demanding, one step upwards at a time.

English programs

One language, many ways to learn it.

Programs are chosen to match the learner, not the other way around. Tell us your age, your level and your goal, and we will work out the route that suits you best together.

About us

Why Mea Lingua Club

  • Learning a language starts with a need.

When curiosity about using a new language meets a real need to communicate, active speaking develops of its own accord.

  • Children have an extraordinary potential for language.

That potential comes through most strongly in an interactive, engaging, child-centred learning environment.

“A language is not knowledge you learn from a book and get measured on in an exam. It is a communication skill used in real life…”
That is why at Mea Lingua we aim for children not merely to learn the language, but to use it and to speak it.

FAQ

Questions we are asked often

If your question is not here, call us — we will answer it directly.

  • For children from age 4, primary and secondary pupils, teenagers, adults and professionals. Every group has its own program and its own pace.
  • Both. Group courses and individual lessons are available; which one suits better depends on the level, the goal and the timetable of the learner. Arrangements can also be made for dyslexia, learning difficulties and visual difficulty. Ask us and we will explain the options.
  • We talk with you about your current English, your goal and your previous experience, and then recommend the level that fits. Courses follow a CEFR-oriented order from beginner to advanced.
  • No. Programs start from zero, including for children who have never met the language. Pre-school and primary pupils begin with phonics — the sounds of English — before reading and writing.
  • That is one of the most common reasons people come to us. Lessons are built so that students speak, with practice in real situations: on the phone, at the airport, in a shop, at a hotel.
  • The whole Cambridge English ladder: Pre A1 Starters, A1 Movers, A2 Flyers, A2 Key for Schools, B1 Preliminary for Schools, B2 First for Schools, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency. Also IELTS, TOEFL and PTE Academic, plus YDT for the English section of the Turkish university entrance exam.
  • Course fees and timetables change through the year, so we do not publish them here. Call us or send a message and we will give you the current information for the program you are interested in.
